Developing An Embodied Understanding of Young People’s Experiences of Place, Space and Movement

Presentation Overview

In this interactive online seminar, Aimee and Stella reflect on using participatory research methods – collage and walking interviews – to engage young people in meaningful dialogue and to co-create understandings of their lived experiences.

Aimee draws on research with LGBTQ+ young people, while Stella shares insights from her work with Autistic young people, illustrating how these creative methods supported inclusive participation, relationship building and centring young people’s voices.

The seminar begins with Aimee and Stella sharing their research approaches, followed by a pause for questions and discussion. They will then consider the implications of these participatory approaches for practice in education and related professional settings, before opening up to further questions and discussion.
